Mrs. Patricia Lorene Reese Grimes of Colquitt, GA died Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Powell and Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Thompson Church Cemetery with Mark Grimes, Michael Middleton, Jeff Cox, Jason Cox, Johnny Green Miller, and Travis Stephens serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Colquitt Funeral Home.
Mrs. Grimes was a member of Thompson Free Will Baptist Church, and a retired Administrative Assistant with the GA Department of Health.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Grimes of Colquitt, GA; one son, Max (Holly) Grimes of Jakin, GA; Wendy (Edward) Brownlee of Blakely, GA; five grandchildren, Trey (Haley) Brownlee, Kyndall Brownlee, Ayla Grimes, Astyn Grimes, and Adeline Grimes; one brother, Sammy (Cindy) Reese; nieces, Manda (Mike) Bryan, Kelsea (Geoffry) Wilbur, and Samantha (Derek) Dukes; nephew, Mark Grimes; and special caregiver, Dana Tomlinson. She was preceded in death by one brother, Buddy Reese; and parents, Ira and Leona Smith Reese.
The family is accepting flowers, as well as donations to Jakin Baptist Church at PO BOX 45, Jakin, GA 39861, or Thompson Free Will Baptist Church c/o Maxine Torbert, at 990 Bellview Road, Colquitt, GA 39837.
