Patricia Myrtle Gusman Hollenback, 91 formerly of Mooresville, NC passed away peacefully on Monday June 23, 2025, surrounded by three of her daughters.

Patricia was born on February 13, 1934, in Bridgeport, Nebraska to Emery and Myrtle Gusman who have preceded her in death. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, John, her son Daniel of Warrenton, VA, son-in-law Captain Stephen G. Riley, III USN retired, daughter-in-law Timi Jo of Seal Rock, OR; sisters Maxine (Ronald) Roberts of Bridgeport, NE, Frances (Richard) Sturgeon of Alliance, NE, Phyllis (Donald) Shuler of Douglas, Wyoming, Josephine (Les) Dauphin of North Platte, NE, Kathleen (Marce) Vasquez of Bridgeport, NE, brothers Ronald Lee of Sidney, Ne and James Riley of Bridgeport, NE, brothers-in-law, Donald Loxterkamp of Lisco, NE and Lawence Sanchez of Bayard, NE.

Patricia is survived by sons John ("Honcho") of Mechanicsville, Maryland, and Dennis Hollenback (Tammie) of Mustang, Oklahoma, daughters Sharon Kay of Mechanicsville, Maryland, Patricia ("Porky") (Mickey) Moffitt of Norfolk, VA, Carrie Jo (Steve) Seaton of Glenn Dale, Maryland, and Mary (Ronnie) Moore of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, and daughter-in-law Jane of Chesapeake, VA., sister-in-law Ava Ferlmann of Peoria, IL and brother-in-law Richard ("Dick") (Donna) Hollenback of Lehigh Acres, FL, sister-in-law Janet Gusman, sisters LaDonna Loxterkamp of Bridgeport, NE, Cecilia Sanchez of Bayard, NE and brother Leo (Carolyn) Gusman of Bridgeport, NE, twenty-two grandchildren, thirty great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was born and raised in Bridgeport, NE. Patricia's father worked for the Burlington railroad and was able to live in Cicero, IL and Casper, Wyoming for short periods of time. After graduating from high school, she moved to Los Angeles, CA to live with her Aunt Lillian. While living in California, she met John on a blind date, fell in love, and married February 14, 1955. After John was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, they moved to Dubuque, Iowa to start their lives. After many moves due to John's cable television career, they retired in Mooresville, NC. Patricia was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and volunteered in the soup kitchen, SWAT team, craft guild, prayer shawl ministry and Toys 4 Tots. In her spare time, she loved to read, solve many types of puzzles and games and loved to watch the squirrels and birds. 

Patricia's children would like to thank the professionals at Doctor's Community Hospital in Lanham, MD for their kind and compassionate care of their mother.

A funeral mass for Patricia will be held at Ascension Catholic Church in Bowie, MD on July 18, 2025, at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Ascension Catholic Church in Bowie, Maryland, and/or St Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville, NC.

Inurnment to be with John at Arlington National Cemetery will be at a later date.
