Patricia A. Kauffman, 60, of West Liberty, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Patty was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 23, 1965, to Carole (Bump) Wilson of Bellefontaine, and the late Theodore Wilson.
Patty is survived by her sons: Levi (Alysha Gwaltney) Kauffman, Wade Kauffman, and Ryan Kauffman, all of West Liberty; 3 grandchildren: Whitley, Abby, and Gannon; a brother Mark Wilson of East Liberty; a sister Katie (Jason) Taylor of Huntsville; nieces: Eva, Emma, Gabby, Gracie and Gillian; a nephew Kason; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Patty worked as a lab tech at Mary Rutan Hospital, then went to work at Bellefontaine Physical Therapy for several years, and most recently as a medical assistant at Grand Lake Podiatry. She was a member of West Liberty United Church of Christ where she also taught Vacation Bible School. Patty was a lifelong advocate and was deeply involved in the West Liberty community, where she was a former member of village council, current member of the West Liberty Historical Society, and will be remembered as a caring, committed, and irreplaceable presence in the community. Patty was loving, kind, and could light up a room just by being in it. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family with her whole heart, and had a strong faith in God that guided her, lifted her, and kept her going through every battle.
Pastor Karen Griswold will officiate Patty’s funeral service on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 10am at the United Church of Christ, 212 Newell St. West Liberty. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 18, from 4-7pm at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Liberty United Church of Christ, 212 Newell St. West Liberty, OH 43357.
