Patricia Ann Lavier (78) of Bristol, RI passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2024.
Known affectionately as Pat, Patti, Mom, Coach, Grandma, and Big Ma, she was an avid reader, prolific crocheter, and the heart of her family. Pat attended Fairhaven High School and was a longtime employee of the Tiverton School Department where she worked as an aide to children with special needs. She also coached cheerleading at Roger Williams University and Tiverton High School. Pat will be remembered by those who loved her for her generous nature, quick wit, love for family, and stubborn refusal to grow "old."
Pat is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Lavier; her children, Lisa Medeiros, Jay Lavier, Kelly Souza, Jennifer Lavier, Wynter Deagle, and Collyn Lavier; her grand-daughter, Charis Beaudoin; her 11 grand-children; 17 great-grand-children; her siblings, Brad Pittsley, Mary Moraes, Sandra Taylor, and Cyndi Remillard; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Bernard Pittsley, her sister, Kathy Pittsley, and her uncle, Wayne Oliver. Pats passing on Valentines Day is fitting given her favorite color was red and she was dearly loved.
A celebration of Pats life will be held in the summer as she despised cold weather and sad faces. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Pats memory to the American Cancer Society as Pat was a proud cancer survivor of more than 20 years. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Patricia, please visit our Tree Store.
