Patricia Lehenbauer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Garner Funeral Home and Chapel - Monroe City on Dec. 5, 2024.
Patricia M. Lehenbauer, 79, of Monroe City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. She was born on July 24, 1945, in Horton, Kansas, to Richard M. and Marjorie B. Gosney.
Pat attended Hickory Grove School until the 5th grade and then completed her education in Monroe City, Missouri. She gave her life to Jesus Christ on October 11, 1956, was baptized, and became a member of Prairie View Baptist Church on October 14, 1956. On October 27, 1963, Pat married Christian W. Lehenbauer at the Monroe City Christian Church, which she had joined just a week prior.
Pat devoted her life to her family, faith, and community. She worked for G.B. Veatch, attorney, and Warren Gsee Realtor for a few years before focusing on her many acts of service. Pat taught Sunday School for 50 years, served as president of the Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF), and held roles as secretary and service leader at the church. She organized funeral dinners for 45 years and played piano for church services on occasion.
A dedicated community member, Pat was a charter member of the Monroe City Manor Auxiliary, where she played piano for 45 years. She was also a member of the VFW Post 4240 Auxiliary and actively supported the Ralls County Cancer Relay for Life.
Pat loved working alongside her husband, Chris, throughout their marriage. She had a deep affection for animals, including her beloved cats, dogs, and her horse, Amigo. As an only child, her animals were like family to her. She enjoyed baking and delivering treats to others, creating crafts, reading, and supporting local sports by attending countless games in Monroe City.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Marla (Dwayne) Jones; two sons, Mitchell J. (Gigi) Lehenbauer and Micah D. (Lori) Lehenbauer; and seven grandchildren: Zachary Jones, Augustus Jones, Max Lehenbauer, Luke Lehenbauer, Caleb Lehenbauer, Isaac Lehenbauer, and Elaine Lehenbauer. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers for the service will be Pat's grandchildren, with Logan and Dylan Maher serving as honorary pallbearers.
Services will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Garner Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Steve Goughnour. A graveside service will follow at Prairie View Cemetery in Shelby County, Missouri. Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Garner Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monroe City Christian Church or Prairie View Cemetery.
Pat's legacy of faith, service, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
