Patricia Mae Lutter

October 16, 1925 – August 17, 2025

Patricia Mae (Schreiner) Lutter, aged 99, passed peacefully on August 17, 2025, in Milwaukee, WI. She was born to Norma and Jack Schreiner in Sheboygan Falls, WI in 1925, and was thrilled to welcome her "baby brother" William to their family in 1932.

Patricia earned her B.S. degree from St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1947, demonstrating early on her dedication to the field of healthcare. She went on to complete residencies at Cook County School of Nursing in Chicago and Milwaukee Children's Hospital, where she developed a lifelong passion for pediatric care and community service.

In 1949 she married the love of her life, James C. Lutter, in Biloxi, MS and the couple spent most weekends driving to New Orleans where they enjoyed live music and dancing.

During Jim's career with the United States Air Force, Patricia's nursing career flourished, and she developed a deep compassion for care and clinical expertise through her work with the Santa Fe Railroad (Albuquerque, NM), Clarksville Base (Fort Campbell, KY), St. Luke's Hospital (Racine, WI), and Calumet Memorial Hospital (Chilton, WI).

She loved to sing, garden, play tennis, and expressed her appreciation for nature through her beautiful paintings. Patricia will always be known for her commitment to caring for others, her deep love of family, and her unwavering generosity. Her warmth, creativity, elegance and strength touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she inspired.

Patricia is survived by her daughters Heidi (Lutter) Duerwaechter, Laura (Preston) Lutter Cole; her sister-in-law Charlotte Schreiner; her niece Erika (Herb) Humke, and nephew Kurt Schreiner; her grandchildren Cody (Liz) Holmes, Darren (Kate) Cole, and Addison (Kris) Zaire; and her great grandchildren Ellie Laczny and Tate Zaire.

In lieu of flowers, Patricia requested donations be made in her name to:
