MacGowan, Patricia M.
ALBANY - Patricia M. MacGowan, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025. She was born in Albany, N.Y., on October 2, 1946, the daughter of the late John and Mary Danahy. She attended Guilderland High School and later attended Empire State College and SUNY Albany.
She worked for NYS Department of Tax and Finance for 33 years, until her retirement. Very proud of her Irish heritage, she served over 50 years as a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, as well as a past president. Patricia was a loving wife, lover of animals, and loved Irish music and her many adventures in Ireland.
In addition to her parents; she was also predeceased by her husband, Francis "Frank" MacGowan.
She is survived by her family, Dianne and Timothy Sauter; Brianna and Peadar Hickey, and their children, Adalynn, Emmet, and Pearse; Catherine and Keith Cohen, and their children, Andrew, Declan, and Sean; Charlie and Barbara MacGowan and family; Gerald and Breda Campion; and many nieces and nephews; as well as her special boys, Dylan, Kyle, and Ryan.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Tebbutt and Frederick Funeral Home, 633 Central Ave., Albany, N.Y. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, N.Y. 12204.
