Patricia (Pat) McDonald, 79, of Athens, TN passed away December 13, 2024 at Starr Regional Medical Center. When Pat departed, the world lost one of its shining stars and a lot of humor and sassiness. Pat had her way of making everyone she knew smile and laugh, and always made sure that she showed her love to the ones closest to her.
Pat was a beloved mother to Kristina Hiefnar and Randy McDonald, and a loving grandmother. She was preceded in death by husband, Roy McDonald; mother, Irene Sliger; father, Roy Farlow; and siblings, Juanita Winder, Rachel Stephens, Mack Sliger, and Cecil Farlow.
She is survived by her children, Kristina Hiefnar and Randy McDonald; grandchildren,Tyler McDonald, Madison Wright, and Grace (Bryson) Huckabey, Kyliee McDonald, Charlee Castle, and Amelia Huckabey; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend and loved one, Karey Davis.
Pat was a graduate of McMinn County High School. She was employed at Roses for many years. Pat was of Christian faith. She spent her free time going shopping, watching her favorite shows, and always enjoyed the occasional diet coke and honey bun. The thing she loved the most was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandkids and great grand children. No matter relation, Pat was a "Mamaw" to many, and she always treated everyone like her own. She never knew a stranger and always made sure to take the time to laugh and enjoy the moment.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Patsy Moses from Amedisys Home Health and Hospice for everything she has done.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Companion Funeral Home of Athens at 6:30pm. Receiving of friends will be held prior from 5-6:30pm.
