Kathern Arvedah King Henry, age 88 of Athens, born Dec. 3, 1937, and passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025 at NHC of Athens. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie B. and Bessie Opal Sneed King. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church and was retired from Thomas and Betts Corporation. She loved to garden and raised beautiful flowers. and was preceded in death by her husband Fred Henry (April 8, 2006), three brothers, Hugh "Vee" King, Johnny Cecil King, Bobby Gene King.

Survivors include; two daughters, Sharon Folsom (Dan) of Hixson, Linda White (Mike) of Etowah; two sons,Tim Henry (Mary) of Decatur, and Charles Henry (Lori) of Athens; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws Carol King and Sue Henry; one brother-in-law, Merle Henry; several nieces and nephews. One special friend and loving caregiver, Opal Bright of Athens.

Funeral services will be 1pm Monday, December 8, 2025, in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral home with the Rev. Vic King and Rev. Garry King officiating. The graveside will be 2 pm Monday at McMinn Memory Gardens following the service. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm Monday before the service at the funeral home.
