Patricia McDonald Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daniels Chapel of the Roses Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. - Santa Rosa on Dec. 10, 2025.
Born in Chicago, IL to Paul and Theresa O'Riley in 1934, Patricia was the youngest of six children. She traveled to California with her family to San Francisco in 1942 where she attended St. James Catholic School and Immaculate Conception Academy. Patricia began singing in school choirs at the age of eight. Music was her true joy. She continued in parish choirs throughout her adult life at Our Lady of Loretto Church (Novato), St. Theresa's (Maui), and Our Lady of the Sierra's (Oakhurst, CA).
She married her husband of 70 years, George, and moved to Novato to raise their family in 1966. In their new home, she was blessed with an abundance of good neighbors, joined the PTA, and became the neighborhood "Avon Lady."
Upon retirement, Patricia and George moved to Kihei, Maui fully embracing and enjoying the culture and community of island life. She joined the Maui Quilt Guild and St. Theresa's Parish where she was active in social functions in addition to the parish choir.
Patricia is survived by a son, Michael McDonald of El Sobrante, and three daughters-Michele Kremer of Rohnert Park, Kim Sparks of San Rafael, and Karen Moncayo of Santa Rosa, and six grandchildren-Jesse, Jack, Shannon, Rachel, Sean, Natalie, and four great grandchildren-Andrew, Sadie, Anthony, and Cora.
A Rosary Service will be held for Patricia on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:00 at St. Patrick Church in Larkspur, CA. Internment will immediately follow at the San Francisco National Cemetery at the Presidio.
