Pat Merritt, 80, of Linn, KS, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Washington County Hospital.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Linn.
A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 21 at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. Pastor Timothy Koch officiated. Eunice Beier was the organist and the hymns are “Amazing Grace,” “Jesus Loves Me” and “My Hope is Built on Nothing Less.”
The pallbearers were Steve Ouellette, Derrick Dusin, Dustin Dusin, Jamie Bolejack, Gabe Sampson and Robert Hall.
Burial took place in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Pat was born on June 4, 1944, in Washington, KS, to Dick and Helena (Kuhlman) Boerger. On June 9. 1961, she was united in marriage to Myrl Merritt at the Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. They were blessed with three children, Ronda, Denise and Mitch.
Pat worked alongside her husband as a secretary at M & M Tire, where her kindness and hard work earned her the respect of many. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, fishing and camping.
Pat is survived, by children, Ronda (Garold) Bolejack, Denise (Brian) Dusin, and Mitch Merritt; brother-in-law, Dick (Kathy) Merritt; sisters-in-law, Shirley Merritt, Carolyn Pruser and Linda Boerger; along with eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Myrl in 2020; brother, Dick Boerger; and niece, Cindy.
A memorial fund is established to Zion Lutheran Church or the Linn American Legion Post #237. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, PO Box 157, Washington, KS.
