Patricia Muhlhauser Obituary

PATRICIA A. MUHLHAUSER
July 30, 1945 ˜ July 29, 2024

Patty Muhlhauser Romska, age 78, died surrounded by loving family. Born in LeMars, IA, to Lloyd and Janet Norton (Meis). Patricia and the family moved to Culver City, CA, in 1952.
She had two sons, Richard and Mark Muhlhauser, while residing in California. In 1980, she moved to the Mount Vista area of Vancouver. In 1989, she married Joseph Romska and their 35th anniversary was to be celebrated in August.
Patty was a well-known real estate agent in Clark County for the last five decades. Her license plate displayed her known greeting to friends, neighbors and clients _ “YOOWHOO.” For many years, she hosted an annual Mount Vista Halloween party, with games, prizes and dinner for all attendees; this after delivering truckloads of pumpkins to every home in the development. She also served on the architectural control board in Mount Vista for several decades. Her largest real estate transaction was the sale of the property that is now known as WSU Vancouver campus.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Romska; her sons, Richard Muhlhauser and Mark Muhlhauser (Kari); three grandchildren, Austin Muhlhauser (Victoria), Madison Bredstrand (Jake), and Max Muhlhauser; two great-granddaughters; Collins Bredstrand and Scarlet Muhlhauser.
Patty is also survived by her brothers, Dave and John; and sisters, Vicki, Jackie, Debbie, MaryPat and Kathy.
In lieu of flowers, you may honor Patty by “paying it forward,” showing love and sharing it with your community!

This is way late. Just found out this morning that miss Patty Muhlhauser passed away. We had always promised her that if we were to ever sell our home, we would use her as our real estate agent.
We received holiday cards from her for years and appreciated all of them!
What a wonderful lady and a great community leader.
I bet she is working with our Lord lining up mansions on the streets of heaven right now.
Our sincere, very belated condolences.

My wife Jackie and I knew Patty from MtVista. She found us a house and then sold that house for me in Hazel Dell in 2015. We had kept in touch always over the years. After Jackie passed in 2016 I would meet Patty and Joe for coffee at Starbucks. Always a joy to catch up with them. I wish the family the best.

Patty was an amazing lady! She loved her family and loved her friends as family! Her thoughtfulness and generosity had no limits. We sometime teased she needed to hold stock in Hallmark. When I no longer saw her every week, I loved the birthday, anniversary, and holiday cards. My daughters were always confused by $2 bills. She truly blessed my life.
Joe you loved her well!
May God´s love and comfort surround each of you and your family in the days ahead.

Our SW WA community recently suffered a heartbreaking loss. My deepest of condolences go out to her husband, Joe, as well as all family & friends.

From delivering pumpkins to upwards of 430 homes in Mt. Vista each October (1 per home & +1 for each child) to organizing and running Halloween parties at the rec center.

From being my realtor & helping me throughout the home buying process, to surprising me with enough ribs, pulled pork, baked beans & potato salad to last me a week (So I wouldn´t have to cook during the move-in process.)

And to being such a loyal & dependable friend to my parents, and treating the five of us like we were family. She was the only person on this planet I let call me `Markie´ (Out of habit, in a way, because of her own son, Mark.)

Patty, You are truly missed. We love you. RIP.

I met Patty when I was hired to work for her husband's business Joe's Realty Sign Co. in 2007. Patty was such a loving, caring and giving lady. She always thought of others before herself. She loved to cook and share what she cooked and sent home many dinners to me and my husband . She made the best salsa and she not only shared salsa but chips to go with it. She loved her family so much and would do anything for them. Joe was the love of her life and she always took such wonderful care of him. She was just a fantatic lady and she will be greatly missed. RIP Patty..... you were loved more than I think you realized.

My friendship with Patty goes back to the early 1980´s. Throughout these years I have witnessed her unwavering support of our neighborhood of Mt. Vista. Her obituary mentions her many contributions. She is truly "a legend" to present and former residents of Mt. Vista.

An inordinate number of real estate agents, friends and neighbors have enjoyed her mastery of the kitchen. She is the oldest of 7 children and never did learn to cook chili, spaghetti, potato salad, chicken, ribs, salsa, etc for less than an army. As a result, many benefitted by being told she and Joe were delivering food to them..

As one of my WSUV co-workers reminded me, she supplied me with salsa to share with the staff in Student Services on numerous occasions. They all loved those salsa and chip days.

When I both worked at WSUV and Realty Sign Company (Joe´s business) both, Patty would send me home with a bag of food so that I didn´t have to spend as much time thinking about what I was going to fix for dinner. This included meat, potatoes, salad, vegetables, bread, and even dessert and a bottle wine.

Needless to say, she was one of the most generous persons with her time and talent that I have ever known.

Her ongoing dedication to Mt. Vista by acting as Director of the Architectural Control Committee lasted since the 1980´s. Her only concern was that if a request was turned down, they may attribute it to her.

There are so many other things I could say!!

May she rest in peace, she deserves it!

Patty was the best neighbor anyone could ever ask for. I feel so blessed to have lived next door to her and Joe for 25 years. She was an incredible person and we are so grateful for all the memories! Love Sarah Grant and family.
