Patricia Mullins Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hilton Funeral Home on Jan. 13, 2026.
Mrs. Patricia Helen Mullins, 83 of Readington Township, New Jersey passed away on the evening of January 5th, 2026, in Rockville Maryland after a five-month long battle with a brain tumor. Born on July 26th, 1942, in Highland Park, Michigan, she was the eldest child of the late John and Eleanore Jablonski. Pat is survived by her daughter Kimberly Mullins-Mitchell and her husband David Mitchell of Clarksburg, Maryland; their two sons, Liam and Noah Mullins-Mitchell; sisters Donna Fairman and her husband Ernest and Janice Paige and her husband John; as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Ronald Mullins of almost 55 years and her brother John Jablonski, Jr.

Pat became a flight attendant for United Airlines in 1963 after attending the University of Michigan. She loved traveling all over Europe with Ron and their friends and family, one of the perks of her job. When she was grounded (flight attendants had to be single at the time) after marrying her husband, she worked in the Red Carpet Room at Newark Airport. There, she came to know Paul Newman very well, which was a highlight of her life. She received an "Outstanding Flight Attendant" award as well as one for her life saving efforts of one of her passengers. If you were blessed with knowing Pat, then you know what a perfect career this was for her.

Pat was always the caretaker of everyone that she knew whether family, friends, neighbors, friends of her daughters and even strangers. She was considered a Wonder Woman; she was always working hard at her job, had an immaculate house and grounds (fruit trees, flower beds and large vegetable garden), always hosting amazing house parties and picnics with every type of food imaginable, decorating the entire house for each holiday, homemade meals and baked goods which she liked to share with the neighborhood, crafting, and being the best wife, mother and grandmother. Her pantries and freezers were always stocked so that she was ready for anyone who might be visiting. Everyone that came to her house joked that this was the place to go in case of an apocalypse.

Pat was known for her quick wit and strong opinions. She was extremely intelligent and stood up for what she believed was right. We are sure she is kicking everyone's butts in Heaven Jeopardy and informing people of the "correct" opinion. She was an animal lover and a huge sports fan of the University of Michigan and the University of Arizona where her daughter went. Her favorite things of all time in this world, however, were her grandsons. She loved them with all of her heart and would do anything for them. Pat will be greatly missed, especially by her daughter, Kim who thought of Pat as her best friend, safe place and confidante.

A memorial service will be held in Readington in the spring for both Pat and Ron's ashes to be laid to rest together. Details will follow at a later date.
