It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia "Patty" Blue Oscar, a beloved wife, mother, nana, great nana, sister, and friend, at the age of 85. Patty passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024.
Born on March 16, 1939, in Seattle, Washington, Patty attended Forest Ridge School and later earned her Bachelor's degree from Seattle University. On September 17, 1960, she married Paul Oscar, and together they raised three sons: David, Jeffrey, and Erick.
Patty lived in Medina, Washington for 62 years, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and friendship. She worked as the Secretary for Sacred Heart Church in Clyde Hill for 35 years. Patty was deeply involved in her church and always seeking ways to serve others with her kind and generous spirit.
Patty was an incredible host with a remarkable gift for bringing people together and creating spaces filled with warmth, laughter, and love. She made everyone feel special with her kind words and genuine interest in others. She cherished time with her loved ones, hosting gatherings, enjoying summers at the family's beach home, tending to her garden, and playing a mean game of Rummikub or Bridge. Her warmth, wit, and boundless hospitality will be fondly remembered by all.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey and his wife Dawn, her son Erick, her three grandchildren, her three great grandchildren, her brother Jack David, her sister Jo-Anne Shanahan, and her many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and her eldest son, David.
A funeral mass will be held on February 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in Clyde Hill.
