Richard Allen "Rich" Schierburg, a dedicated community leader, devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 77. His passing followed a tragic car accident that also claimed the life of his beloved wife of 50 years, Linda, on September 18, 2025.
Born on July 8, 1948, Rich was a Colorado native who spent his life serving the Denver community. A proud alumnus of Regis Jesuit High School (Class of 1966), he went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Seattle University.
Rich was a prominent figure in Denver’s real estate and philanthropic circles. His professional and civic contributions included National Jewish Health where he served on the Board of Directors since 2004 and began his tenure as Board Chair in 2012. He served as the Board Chair for Archdiocesan Housing, Inc. advocating for affordable housing, and was a dedicated supporter of the Denver Scholarship Foundation. As a principal at Peregrine Group LLC, he was an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and NAIOP.
Above all, Rich was a family man. He and Linda were the proud parents of two children, Eric and Taylor, and devoted grandparents of Hunter and Asher. He was known for his energy, expertise, and a deep commitment to the institutions that made his home state better.
Rich is survived by his children, grandchildren, sister Kathy, and brother Scott, numerous nieces and nephews, and a community that will long remember his legacy of leadership and service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, his parents, Eugene and Mary Schierburg, and his sisters Mary Jeanne and Cynthia Ann.
Funeral mass will be held on Monday March 30, 2026 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Denver CO, at 10:00 am. Internment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum immediately following the mass
