Tomohisa Yoda Obituary

Tomohisa Yoda, age 25, passed away on November 2, 2025, in Centennial, Colorado. Tom was born on August 1, 2000, in Japan, and kept sharing his love, joy, and hope with everyone around him.

Tom was from Kamakura, a beautiful coastal city in Kanagawa, Japan, where he spent his childhood, attending Seisen Elementary School before moving to Georgia and Colorado later with his family. In 2018, he graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado. He then graduated from Kenyon College in Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in physics, earning summa cum laude and Highest Honors in Physics. He was a third-year Ph.D. student in applied physics at Stanford University. Tom will receive a Master of Science in Applied Physics.

Tom was an avid French horn player and enjoyed playing tennis, squash, and mystery-solving games. He is survived by his father, Nobu Yoda; his mother, Naoko Yoda; his older sister, Meg Takahashi; his brother-in-law, Shota Takahashi; and his two shiba inu dogs, Komachi and Koshiro. He is also survived by his grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends.

An open-house memorial celebration will take place at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service and Cremation in Centennial, Colorado, on Saturday, November 8, between 2 pm and 5 pm Mountain time. Guests are warmly invited to stop by, share stories, and remember Tom together.
