Scott Andrew Seymour, 57, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at Golden Orchard Assisted Living in Centennial, Colorado. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, Scott built a life grounded in love, loyalty, and connection. A devoted husband, father, stepfather, son, brother, and friend, he touched every life he encountered with his kindness, his easy smile, and his genuine way of making people feel seen.
Scott grew up in Ashland, Ohio, and graduated from Ashland High School. He joined the U.S. Army National Guard in 1986 and transitioned to active duty in 1989, where he was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years, dedicating his life to his country with honor, courage, and discipline.
After his military service, Scott attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where he graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to build a meaningful career as an engineer, a role that reflected his curiosity, integrity, and determination. He approached every challenge with patience and intelligence.
Outside of work, his greatest joy was spending time with his family—cherishing moments with his wife and family, exploring new places, playing guitar, learning Spanish, and creating memories filled with love and laughter.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Marcela; his children, Connie, Ashley, and Colin; and his beloved stepchildren, Melanie, Eduardo, Matheo, and Sofia. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Seymour, and his wife, Linda; his uncle, Richard “Rick” Buchanan, and his wife, Brenda; and his cousins, Brian Buchanan and Sabrina Buchanan-Brautigen.
Scott was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lesta Kay Buchanan-Seymour, and his father, Larry Neal Seymour.
Scott also leaves behind his loyal dog, Thor, who was never far from his side.
Scott will be remembered for his gentle spirit, generous heart, and the calm strength with which he faced life. He made others feel at home with his presence, his humor, and his unwavering support. He will be forever loved and deeply missed.
