With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the peaceful passing of Deborah Jean Smith on November 5, 2025, just one day after celebrating her 77th birthday. She departed this world with dignity and grace, exactly as she wished, surrounded by the love of her devoted family.

Born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa, Deborah lived a long and prosperous life rooted in love, family, and unwavering devotion. It was at the county fair in her hometown that she met the love of her life, Fred Noah Smith. From that moment on, they were inseparable, building a beautiful life together over 58 cherished years of marriage.

Together, they raised three beloved daughters- Rebecca Smith Ewy, Bonnie Smith Jarmon, and Bridget Smith Corrigan -instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience, and deep familial love. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family, especially during the treasured moments when everyone was together under one roof.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband Fred, her daughters, and six adoring grandchildren: Nakita Jarmon, Rodger Ewy, Nyiesha Jarmon, Dalton Mutz, Natosha Jarmon, and Caitlin Corrigan. Each of them carries forward her legacy of warmth, strength, and compassion.

Deborah will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the grace with which she lived her life. Though she is no longer with us, her presence will forever be felt in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A private family service will be held to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hold your loved ones close and cherish every moment together-just as she always did.
