Patricia Overley Obituary

PATRICIA LYNN OVERLEY Patricia Lynn Overley, affectionately known as Patti, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in West Branch, Michigan, at the age of 62. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Gerald and Carol (Roach) Getty on April 1, 1962. She lived in West Branch since she was 7 years old, formerly of Detroit. Patti embraced her calling in the medical field as a certified medical assistant at McLaren Primary Care, where she devoted over 25 years to caring for others. Her gentle spirit and unwavering support left an indelible mark on the lives she touched, serving not just her patients but actively participating in initiatives like Celebrate Recovery and the Rescue Mission. Educated with pride, Patti graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1981 and further pursued her passion by securing an associate degree in Architecture Design from Kirtland Community College. Yet, her true heartbeat resonated within her family and community involvement. A devoted member of Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church, she found joy in serving the nursery and nurturing young souls, a testament to her loving nature. Patti's life was filled with an abundance of love, laughter, and adventures. She cherished traveling, embraced the splendor of mountains, and gardening, and delighted in the company of horses and dogs. Her zest for life was palpable, and she radiated warmth wherever she went. Patti's life was richly woven with cherished moments spent with her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Chris Overley, and her beloved daughter, Alicia (Justin) Monroe, and son, Joshua Maul. She also held a special place in her heart for her step-sons, Paul (Jolynna) Overley and Philip (Erica) Overley. As a proud grandmother, Patti took immense joy in the lives of her grandchildren: Parker, Lance, Jolan, Marissa, Samuel, and Gabriel Monroe, along with Elijah Overley, Grant, and Alexis Overley. Each of them was a light in her life, and her legacy will live on through their stories. Patti was also deeply rooted in her family and is survived by her father, Gerald Getty, as well as her brother, Jeff Getty, and sister, Jacqulynn (Fred) Evans. She is preceded in death by her mother, Carol Getty. Patti's visitation will be held at Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church in West Branch, Michigan, on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate a life well-lived, where memories will be shared, and her spirit will forever linger in our hearts. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Good Samaritan Rescue Mission 713 9th Street, Bay City, MI 48708. Just found out about Patti's passing. Had a lot of good
times in the 70's and early 80's. BLT and second trail, not to mention Rose City road home. A very special person who will be missed. My condolences.
