Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremation Society - Ocala-Timber RidgeIt is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia (Pat) Wright, 79, of Ocala, Florida. Pat passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours on Monday, January 19th, leaving behind a loving family and large circle of close friends who will deeply miss her vibrant spirit and caring heart.
Pat was born on January 11, 1947, in Oxford, Michigan and was the eldest child of Basil and Mary Judd. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1965 and later received an associates business degree from Birmingham Business College. She married the love of her life, Donald (Don) Wright, on July 13, 1974.
Pat is survived by her husband Don Wright; her two children, son Doug (Terri) McKee, daughter Michelle (Joel) Symons; her sisters Pamela (Donnie) Floyd and Peggy (David) Desrochers; her brother Donald (Sandy) Clason; her 5 grandchildren, Parker McKee, Leah Smith, Katarina Quni, Shyanne Symons, and Corbin Symons; 3 great grandchildren; 2 aunts, cousins, nephews & nieces, numerous other relatives; and a wide circle of close friends.
Pat is predeceased by her mother Mary E. Clason, her father Basil R. Judd, her stepfather Herbert M. Clason, and sister Caroline Tincknell.
Pat was known as a feisty, inquisitive, and compassionate woman who brought energy and purpose into everything she did. Although she was a great team player, she had a natural take-charge attitude and loved spearheading projects, always stepping forward to organize, lead, and make things happen. She simply had the knack of getting things done and done well. Her determination, enthusiasm, and wonderful humor inspired those around her, and her presence could light up any room. If you were a close friend, she treated you as a sister or brother. It was often said by her close friends, “Everyone loves Pat”.
Above all, Pat cared deeply for her family and friends. Pat loved to entertain, was known as an outstanding cook, had a vast cookbook collection, was expert in canning, and enjoyed dabbling in numerous crafts. She loved her two children deeply and was so proud and happy with the exceptional adults they both turned out to be. Both Douglas (Doug) and Michelle and their spouses (Terri and Joel) raised outstanding children, each one of them on the path to success and making a real difference in this world.
Pat enjoyed a highly successful career in healthcare management. Most noteworthy was when, in 1979, she became the Office Manager for Dr. David Magnus, a relatively new single physician Urology practice, in Sacramento, California. Pat thrived in this position, and the practice quickly became a Urology practice of choice in the community. Later, Pat was promoted to the position of Administrator to lead the transition of the Urology practice into a Urology medical group, Capitol Urology Medical Group, which became the premier Urology medical group in the Sacramento region.
Pat and Don loved to travel, attend plays and concerts, enjoy many weekend “getaways”, game night with friends, camping & stream fishing in the Sierras, old fashion picnics, and many other fun activities. For several years they enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome.
Her struggles with severe Neuropathy in her later years was a challenge for Pat but she battled the ailment with amazing strength every day. Although the pain in her feet and legs would often bring tears to her eyes, she rarely showed weakness and she refused to sit on the sidelines. Unfortunately, some of the activities that she loved so much (bowling, golf, dancing, exercise, etc.) was impacted by the ailment.
Although not a routine church goer, Pat was very spiritual, loved Jesus as her Savior, had a true belief in Angels (Michael is her personal archangel), and she started and ended every day with a prayer. Her mantra of life was to live a full and joyous life and to be kind and loving of others.
Pat shared a loving marriage with her husband, Don, for over 51 years. Pat often said a key to their successful marriage was that “we each placed our spouse’s wants and needs above our own”. They were almost inseparable.
A special and cherished memory within the family is that Don’s niece Kathy served as Pat’s Maid of Honor when Pat married Don, a testament to the close and meaningful bond they shared.
Pat’s legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her many acts of kindness, generosity, unwavering spirit, and her wonderful smile & laugh. She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered.
Family and friends are encouraged to attend Pat’s Celebration of Life on Monday, February 23, 2026, beginning at noon at the Arbors Conference Center in rooms 3 & 4, 10070 SW 94th Street, Ocala, FL. 34481. The Arbors Conference Center is located within the On Top of the World retirement community
