Patricia Ann Patrick (née Grant), 82, of Bloomington, IN passed away Friday January 10 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN.
Patricia was born on October 17, 1942 to Alma Benjamin Grant and Emma Bell Grant in Narrow, Kentucky. The eldest of five, she grew up in East Chicago, IN where she then met her husband, John.They married in 1963 and had two daughters.
She dedicated her professional life to teaching special education and taught for several decades in Bedford, IN until her retirement.
Patricia is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Shipman (husband Chris) and Barbara May (husband Jan);granddaughters Rachel Patrick (husband Matthew Boyles) and Abigail May (husband Nicholas Badali);
sister Pamela Tucker (husband Dennis); sister-in-law Mary Kay Ragan (husband Jack), and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Richard Grant, Alma Louise Davis and Barbara Ellet; and her husband of 60 years, John Patrick.
Patricia's greatest joy was her family and she found much happiness in the occasions when they could all be together, most recently this past Thanksgiving. She always said she just wanted to make sure her "four
girls" were okay and her family is so grateful that she was able to see both daughters and both granddaughters settled and happy in their lives.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Allen Funeral Home and Crematory 4155 South Old State Road 37 Bloomington. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Bloomington, where Patricia and John were longtime members of the congregation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricia's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
