Obituary of Patricia Kay Samuelson
SAMUELSON, PATRICIA KAY passed away on September 17, 2023 at the age of 92.
Pat is survived by her precious daughters, Barbara (Russell Smith), and Lynne; sons-in-law Kenneth Larsen (Carla) and William D'Agostino; grandchildren Samuel Larsen (Rebecca), Sahara Smith (Seth), Anthony D'Agostino (Kristi), and Claire Nolan (Matt); great-grandchildren Quinn and Bo Larsen, Rosalie Jo, Lillian and Benjamin D'Agostino, and Maverick and Walker (?) Nolan, along with other dear family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald, daughter Leslie S. Larsen, sister Barbara Beth, and parents Morton and Marian Pederson.
Born in Fergus Falls, MN in 1931, her family moved to Minneapolis in 1942. Don and she were married in 1951, and together they raised their three wonderful daughters in Bloomington, and Linden Hills in SW Minneapolis. For many years she made her home in Edina. Most recently she was a resident at Mt. Olivet Careview Home, where she treasured the staff, who she said treated her as if she were their grandmother. She was active as a volunteer for years at Grace, Good Shepherd, and Mt. Olivet Lutheran churches, as well as at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, the Mpls Council of Camp Fire, TTT, League of Women Voters, and Augsburg University, putting her faith into action through volunteer work and support.
Pat was known for her passionate love and support for her family and friends, always up to date on their activities and interests. She was well-read (active in book clubs) and always well-informed about the world. She loved to entertain and was a wonderful cook, known for her delicious holiday meals.
Memorials are preferred to Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, the Pederson/Samuelson Scholarship at Augsburg College, the Salvation Army, or donor's choice. Private services will be held.
