Patricia Diane Shoemaker, age 72, of Hancock, MD, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Born Tuesday, December 2, 1952, in McConnellsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Helene Harr Weller.
Patty was employed with London Fog Manufacturing in Hancock, MD and Coolfont Resort in Berkeley Springs, WV; each for over twenty years.
She loved to walk and be at the park with her great nieces Emma Lou and Ella Grace Reed. When not taking care of and loving her family, her other hobbies included cooking, trying new recipes, and decorating.
Patty will be loved and dearly missed by her family and everyone around her.
She is survived by her son, Darrin Sherwood Shoemaker and his wife Marissa; seven siblings, Barbara Peck of Warfordsburg, PA, David Weller and wife Leslie of Hancock, MD, Debbie Morris of Warfordsburg, PA, Douglas Weller of Warfordsburg, PA, Karen Mellott of Warfordsburg, PA, Russell Weller and wife Debra of Great Cacapon, WV, and Gary Weller and wife Millie of Berkeley Springs, WV; brother-in-law, William Strait of Warfordsburg, PA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Terry “Whitey” Shoemaker; sister Wilma Strait; and brother-in-laws Michael Morris and John Peck.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 11:00a.m. at Orchard Ridge First Church of God, 14128 Orchard Ridge Rd, Hancock, MD 21750. Pastor Jeff Hawbaker will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for the family and sent to Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750.
