Patricia Smith Obituary
Patricia Imagene Smith, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 83. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas, with Less Griffin officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
Born on April 16, 1941, in Slaton, Texas, Patricia was a cherished member of her community and a devoted family member. Patricia graduated from Slaton High School in 1959 and went on to beauty school. On May 27, 1978, Patricia married her beloved husband, Derrell Smith, creating a warm and loving home. A woman of many talents, she also pursued modeling, showcasing her vibrant spirit and love for life. Patricia was known as "Nana" to her adored grandchildren, and she took immense joy in nurturing and caring for her family. Her love extended to her loving dog companions, as she had a deep affection for them and brought her endless joy. An avid gardener, Patricia found peace in her yard, where she delighted in planting flowers and feeding the birds. Whether waterskiing on sunny days or enjoying quiet moments at home, Patricia embraced life with passion and grace. Patricia Imagene Smith's legacy of love, kindness, and joy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her and she will be missed by many friends and family.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband; Derrell Smith, her parents; Walter James and Ima Mae Schilling, and siblings; Corky Martindale, Barbra Sims, and Mary Ann Waller.
Patricia is survived by her four children; Doug and wife Leann Blackerby of Plainview, TX, Andrea and husband Buttons Bozeman of Tulia, TX, Brad and wife Jennifer Smith of Amarillo, TX, Greg and wife Connie Smith of Melissa, TX, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital located at 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
