Patricia Joan Smith, "Jo", departed this earthly life on October 20, 2025, at 1:15 A.M. at the Bloomington Brickyard Care Facility in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana. The 5th child of Hollis Lowell and Pattie E Branson Smith, Jo was born October 6, 1946, at the Old Doc Livingston Farm in Clay Township, Owen County, Indiana.
Jo is survived by her 4 sisters: Yolanda Claudette Smith "Carol", Aletha Arlene Livingston, Carla Sue Johnson, and Evelyn Delilah Simms; her 3 brothers Hollis Wayne (Teri) Smith, Daniel Clinton (DeeEllen) Smith, and John Thomas Smith; by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Leonard Dale Smith, a sister-in-law Marion Sheese Wood Smith, and 3 brothers-in-law: Donald Noel Livingston, Mark Lee Simms, and Cecil Leon Johnson. Jo was an accomplished baker, making beautifully decorated cakes enjoyed by her family and friends, she enjoyed painting and loved horses. She was long-time employee of RCA (Thompsons) in Bloomington then with Cook Medical in Spencer and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Monday, October 27, 2025 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer, Indiana 47460.
Services will be 12:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral home, burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
