Ms. Patricia Mae Smith, 80, of Round O, entered into rest Sunday afternoon, November 16, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Walterboro with her loving family at her side.
Born December 18, 1944, in Walterboro, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Milton Smith and the late Carrie Mae Canady Smith. Patricia was no stranger to hard work and will be fondly recalled for her devotion and strong work ethic. For fifteen years, she was a weaver at J.P. Stevens in Walterboro and had also worked for thirteen years at Dollar General on Bells Highway in Walterboro. Probably what was most iconic was her eighteen years at Dairyland on Jefferies Boulevard in the heart of Walterboro, where she was well-known amongst the locals who always considered her a favorite. She was a member of Cannan Baptist Church at Canadys and attended many other churches in the community. She will always be remembered for her love of hummingbirds.
Surviving are: a daughter, Kelly Johnson (Larry) of Walterboro; two brothers, Johnnie Smith (Gwen) and Kenny Smith (Denise); two sisters, Sallie Fowler and Betty Jean Moore; six grandchildren, Robbie Mizzell, Ashely Mount, Sherrie Smyly, Kayla Miller, Tina Choe, and Gregory Mount; as well as seven great grandchildren, Caroline, Zach, Corbin, Whitine, Brantly, Kalysta, and Houston. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Smyly and Karen Mount; four siblings; and her longtime companion, Ted McMillan.
