Pattie Parker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Winterville Cremation & Funeral Services - Winterville on Oct. 9, 2025.
It is with profound sadness, we share the passing of our beloved Pattie Anne Parker who left us on October 7, 2025. She was 72 years old and her childhood home was in Murfreesboro, NC. In high school, she was well remembered as being an amazing basketball player for the Murfreesboro Red Devils. She was also involved in other social and church activities and played on many softball leagues. After high school, Pattie moved to Greenville, NC and attended both East Carolina University and Pitt Community College. She found her niche in medical transcription at Pitt Memorial Hospital at the time. Her speed in transcribing foreign doctors voices and medical notes really put her at the top of her game. She became an instant success because she could listen to a tape once and master the whole technique of medical transcription. It became a good career for her up until her retirement.
Her real passion was the Outer Banks of North Carolina where she spent a lot of time with family and friends. Her real treasures were any sketches and pictures of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and if you ever visited her home, lighthouses were everywhere. Reading was another passion of hers as well as watching her beloved Wolfpack beat up on the Tarheels. Because of her positive outlook on life, Pattie had a lot of friends who referred to her as PSquare and she has genuinely maintained many of these friendships for well over 40 years. She would give you the shirt off her back, but don't touch her Bright Leaf hotdogs.
Surviving family members include sister; Vickie Price of Rocky Mount, NC along with her son Jeffery (Sherry) Price of Greenville, NC and a daughter Kelley (Kyle) Treiber of Arden, NC. Pattie also leaves behind another sister; Paula (Tom) Price of Clayton, NC. Also left to cherish her memory are two nephews; Patrick Price and Henry Treiber along with three nieces; Kathryn Price, Gracie Treiber and Zoey Price.
Preceding her in death are her beloved parents; Paul Emerson Parker Jr (Marjorie) along with grandparents; Mahlon Vaughan (Cora) and Paul Emerson Parker Sr ( Lucy). Pattie also would like to remember her special friend Debbie Mobley.
A celebratory spreading of her ashes at The Point, in Buxton, NC will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Pitt County Animal Shelter, or ECU Hospice or ECU Womens Athletics.
A special thanks from her family are extended to Doris Barfield, Taylor Barfield, Gail Holley, Debbie Briley and Ruthie Watson who were instrumental in her care and monitored many aspects of her life.

Pattie was special. She had a great sense of humor and full of fun. She will be missed.

Pattie (P2) was a dear and cherished friend for 48 years. We shared a bond and love that will never be replaced. She had an infectious laugh and a personality like no other. She was the life of the party, it wasn't a party without her. Every year on our birthdays we had a mission to give the other the funniest/meanest birthday card. I will truly miss them.
She cherished her family and friends. She loved hard, gave much and made this world a better place. I have an emptiness that can never be filled.

P2 was one of a kind! Her laughter was contagious and I will always remember her out going personally. May you rest in peace
