Obituary published on Legacy.com by Blackmer Funeral Home - Grangeville on Dec. 10, 2024.
Patricia "Patty" Suhr, beloved wife, mother, nan, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully from
complications of ALS at her home in
Grangeville, Idaho on December 4, 2024, surrounded by
her loving husband and daughters. She was 77 years old.
Born on April 22, 1947 in Nyssa, Oregon, Patty was the daughter of Del and Jo Herring,
hardworking parents who instilled in her the values of love, faith, and dedication. She met the
love of her life, Jim, while attending Northwest Nazarene College. This December, Patty and Jim
would have celebrated fifty-eight wonderful years together. A testament to their deep and
enduring love.
Patty and Jim spent most of their lives together in Grangeville where they raised their three
children, Mylynda, Michael, and Michelle. Patty devoted herself to her family, always putting
their needs before her own. When not caring for her children, she enjoyed and excelled at her
work as a legal secretary.
A faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene, Patty served in a variety of roles over the
years, always with a spirit of humility and dedication, as recognized recently with a
Distinguished Service Award. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life.
In recent years, Patty's greatest joy was her four grandchildren: Madison, Cami, Makayli, and
Jordan. She was a constant presence at their events, always ready to cheer them on and
shower them with love. Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy, and she cherished
every moment spent with them.
Patty was known for her kind heart and her unwavering love for those around her. The warmth
felt by a hug from Nan will be remembered by many. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith,
and service to others that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Patty is survived by her devoted husband, Jim, her children, Mylynda (Kevin) Hoch and Michelle
Jackson, her beloved grandchildren, Madison, Cami, Makayli, and Jordan, her cherished sister
Mary (Glenn) Rotz as well as many bonus and extended family members and friends.
Awaiting her in heaven are son Mike, parents Del and Jo, brothers Les and Dennis along with
many other loving family and friends.
A service celebrating Patty's life will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Grangeville,
Idaho, on Monday, December 16 at 11:00 AM. In honor of Patty's love for Christmas and her
elegant holiday style, we invite you to wear Christmas attire that reflects her appreciation for the
beauty and peace brought by this season.
