Patricia J. "Pat" Thaxton

Patricia J. "Pat" Thaxton, 90, of Burlington passed away at her daughter's residence in Cape Carteret, North Carolina on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

A native of Johnston County, she was the wife of the late Howard Odell Thaxton and the daughter of the late Brasby Ernest Johnson and the late Callie Stephenson Johnson.

She was the former owner along with her husband and sons of HOPA Power Equipment, Inc. and member of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Kent Thaxton and his wife Camille; daughters, Kim Campbell and her husband Mike and Amy Baker and her husband Will; daughter-in-law, Faye Thaxton; grandchildren, Matthew Thaxton, Melissa Thaxton, Cristin Hightower, Allen Thaxton, Heather Gerni and Lea Gerni Marcopolos; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mike Thaxton; brothers, Donald Johnson and Ronald Johnson; and sister, Royline Johnson

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Friday, January 2, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 2, 2025 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by Rev. Don Pegg.

The committal service will be held immediately following the funeral service at Antioch Baptist Church, 1358 Antioch Church Road, Burlington, NC 27215.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church, 106 East Morehead Street, Burlington, North Carolina 27215.
