Patricia Joanne "PJ" Thurlwell, 84, of Highland Park, IL, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025.
Born on March 20, 1941, to the late Fred and Margaret Thurlwell, Patricia was a beloved sister to the late Jack and Celeste Thurlwell. She was a loyal and cherished friend to many, including Carol Ugolini, Mary Dwyer, Penny (Richard) Fiore, Claudia Alvarez, Evan Tosi, Pat Maude, Ralph and Mary Lou Korb, Bernice Mayo, Geri (Bob) Zaretske, Linda Decker Riccio, and Sharon (Bob) Connell and many more.
Patricia dedicated over three decades of her life working as a clerk for the United States Postal Service. After retirement, she continued serving the community through her work with the Highland Park Park District at the golf driving range and ice rink.
Known for her vibrant personality and quick wit, Patricia found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid Chicago sports fan, especially devoted to the Bears, whose logo proudly adorned her door. She loved doing puzzles, Art work and sharing meals and stories with friends..
Her warmth, loyalty, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the American Cancer Society.
