Patricia J. "Pat" Torgler, 88, of Asbury, Iowa, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, in Guyton, Georgia, with her eldest daughter and family.
Per her wishes, Patricia was cremated. Friends and family may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Dubuque.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church, with Rev. Phil Gibbs officiating. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.
Patricia was born on March 2, 1937, to her parents John and Ida Nauman in Sherrill, Iowa. After a childhood on the farm, Patricia graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1952. She married Larry J. Torgler in 1957 in Dubuque, Iowa. They later divorced and Pat created a beautiful life of travel, great friends and a loving family.
Her professional career started at Amoco Oil company and then Pat enjoyed a full and remarkable career at First National Bank of Dubuque and Hawkeye Bank. After her retirement from banking, Pat joined Linda Bee's Travels on as many trips across the country and globe as she could. Pat was always happiest surrounded by friends and new places.
Patricia is the loving sister of Lillian (John) Breitbach, Dorothy (William) Kisting, Mary Ann (Carl) Burbach, Darlene (Frank) Timmerman-Murphy, all of whom have preceded her in death and have welcomed her home. Patricia was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, brother-in-law and close friends, Nancy and Fred Ertl.
She is survived by three brothers-in-law: Ronald Torgler, George Torgler and Robert Murphy. Patricia was proud to have one son, Timothy Torgler (Ann), Montrose, IA, and two daughters, Traci Osterhaus (Bruce), Guyton, GA, and Kristin Torgler (Glenn), Ogema, WI. Pat was an adoring grandmother to her 10 grandchildren: Ashley Striplin (Matt), Emily Pittman (Melissa), Michael Griffin (Kelli), Sara Wertz (Ryan), Matthew Griffin, Cody Torgler (Lindsey), Hannah Torgler, Emma Torgler, James Young, and Alexandriea Young. Patricia was blessed to have 15 great-grandchildren: McKinley Striplin, Adalynn Striplin, Parker Striplin, Dakota Pittman, Laikynn Anderson, Taylor Griffin, Elizabeth Griffin, Madisyn Griffin, John Griffin, Callie Wertz, Maren Wertz, Everly Torgler, Josie Torgler, Alivia Griffin, and Jace Griffin.
Pat also leaves so many great friends behind and please know that her life was blessed to have you as part of her story. Pat's spirit will be with you anytime you are laughing with great friends, spoiling your kids, enjoying a delicious treat, sharing a good glass of wine or seeing a new place you have never been to.
