Patricia E. Trypuc (nee Pickford), beloved wife of the late Vincent J Trypuc, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, Patricia was the daughter of the late Albert C Pickford and the late Edith (née Tieck). She had two brothers who predeceased her. Patricia moved out east around 1948. She graduated from Center Moriches high school and eventually ended up in Patchogue with her first-born child Patricia Kelly, from her first marriage. She then met and married Vincent in June 1960 and had two more children, Tracy and Timothy. She also became the stepmother to Vincent Jr and Steven. She is also the grandmother to many.
Patricia was a true Renaissance woman. She devoted her time to raising her blended family and creating a beautiful home. She was artistic, a superb cook, an avid reader of literature and poetry and had a love and passion for gardening and nature, in all its forms by the water where she lived. She was a talented musician and loved classical music. She belonged to St. Paul's Episcopal church and sang in the choir. She then became a Hibernian Singer and traveled to Ireland to perform.
Patricia loved her home on the "country lane" that was teeming with wildlife and waterfowl on the peninsula bordering the lake. She and her husband loved sitting outside listening to birdsong and the peepers. She passed that gift onto her children. She loved entertaining family and friends and made every occasion special. She loved rainy days and sepia sunsets and a small parlor fire to sit near, reading, writing, or journaling.
Mom, you always brought light to the darkness. We will miss your beautiful warm personality, and our evenings spent together laughing and dancing.
As per Patricia's request there will be a cremation and private burial. She also requested, in lieu of flowers, a donation to Stony Brook Children's Hospital for Pediatric Cancer Research in loving memory of her late granddaughter Elizabeth Kelly. Perhaps even plant a tree in her honor.
Mom, you are now amongst the stars and will be greatly missed.
We would also like to thank the caring staff at Good Shepherd Hospice especially her exceptional nurse Lynn O'Connell.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ruland Funeral Home.
