Patricia Webb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hankins & Whittington Funeral Home on Oct. 14, 2022.
Patricia Penninger Webb, 76, passed away with her loving husband by her side Sunday, October 9, 2022. She was born on December 7, 1945 in Springfield, MO to the late Ralph Spafford Penninger, who died before Pat was born, and the late Winona Marie "Brownie" Montgomery Penninger. Brownie later married the late James Robert Penninger. Pat was raised in Mountain View, MO where she helped her parents in the Penninger Mercantile store and completed both elementary and high school, graduating in 1963. While in high school, she played the flute in band, was a cheerleader and had algebra as her favorite subject. She then married her high school sweetheart, Bill Webb, and lived in Rolla, MO where Bill attended Missouri University of Science and Technology. While there, son, Scott, was born and Pat worked to support the family.
Following Bill's graduation in 1967, they moved to Atlanta, GA where Bill began his engineering career and Pat began pursuit of her college degree at Georgia State University. Bill's work then took them to Honolulu, HI, where Pat continued her college education at University of Hawaii and then to Jakarta, Indonesia for three years. After Jakarta, they were transferred to Phoenix, AZ where their son, Scott, completed his middle and high school years and Pat graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in business and began a career in the travel industry.
Pat had become an expert in moving households and learning the cultures and customs of the various places Bill's engineering work had moved them. From Phoenix they moved to Frankfurt, Germany for three years-which Pat loved. Then to San Diego, CA, San Antonio, TX, Corona Del Mar, CA, and in 1996 finally settled in Charlotte, NC. Of all the places that Pat lived and traveled, her favorite place in the world would probably be the Penninger family's cabin at Ratcliff on the Jacks Fork River where she spent many summers while growing up.
Pat loved to sew and seemed to always be working on a new pattern of clothing for herself. She enjoyed nature - the trees and the birds - her garden and her peonies. Pat liked long walks and was passionate about riding her bicycle. She had a wide ranging preference of music including classical, jazz and country western which filled the house with sound most of the time. Mozart, Willy Nelson and Chet Atkins were just a few of her favorites. Pat also loved her dog and cat and driving her sports car.
In additions to her parents, Ralph, James and Brownie, Pat was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Henry.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Bill Webb, of Charlotte, NC; son, Scott Webb and his wife, Leslie, of Tustin, CA; granddaughter, Chelsea Webb, of Orange, CA; grandson, Taylor Webb and his wife, Katie, of Upland, CA; great granddaughter, Harper Webb, of Upland, CA; sister, Barbara Ipock and her husband, Lynn, of Mountain View, MO; brother, Bob Penninger and his wife, Christy, of Springfield, MO; brother-in-law Howard Henry of Springfield, MO; brother- and sister-in-law Joe and Marsha Webb of Mountain View, MO and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A celebration and remembrance of Pat's life will be held at a later date in Mountain View, MO and Tustin, CA. She will be interred at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Teresita, MO.
