Funeral services for Patrick Blount Beard, 45 of Lismore, LA will be held at Lismore Baptist Church at 10AM on Friday, November, 22, 2024 with Bro. Aaron Jolly officiating. Interment will follow at Warren Cemetery in Lismore, LA under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Lismore Baptist Church from 5PM until 8PM. In Lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Tate Duncan Benefit with Concordia Bank or a charity of your choice.
Patrick was born on Monday, April 23, 1979 in Ferriday, LA, and passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024 in Jonesville, LA. Patrick was a true outdoorsman with an adventurous spirit. In his younger years, he embraced life with a passion for hunting, fishing, and mud riding, always eager to push his limits and explore new challenges. His incredible work ethic shone through early, as he helped out with local farms, learning the value of hard work and perseverance. Later, Patrick carried this dedication to his career as a roughneck on offshore oil rigs, where his fighting spirit and determination were unmatched. After his accident it was this fighting spirit that gave him and his family many more years of love and memories.
Despite his rugged pursuits, Patrick's greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Whether gathered for special moments or simple everyday joys, his love and devotion to those he held dear were unwavering. He tackled life with courage, gave it his all, and left a legacy of determination, strength, and love. Patrick's memory will forever inspire those who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Blount and Carolyn Beard.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sara Duncan (Chase); grandson, Tate Duncan; parents, Charles and Renee Doughty, sister, Leah Cardin (Stacy), brother, Kevin Doughty (Susie), brother, Chris Doughty (Michelle), sister, Kerri Wright (Jason), uncles Mark Beard (Janette), Gregg Beard (Melissa), Kelvin Beard, aunt, Kimberly Beard; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Columns Nursing Home staff and numerous caregivers at home through the years.
Those honoring Patrick as pallbearers will be Willie Mitchell, Dewayne Finley, Josh McCall, Beau Beard, Chase Tassin, and Trent Beard.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonah Cardin, Elijah Cardin, Tate Duncan, Cody Beard, Dustin Beard, David Whatley, Pete Mount, and Jay White.
