It is with sadness, but also gratitude for a life well-lived that we are announcing the passing of Patrick (Pat) F. Dugan of
Bloomfield Hills, MI who passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at the age of 92.
Father of Michael (Kathy) Dugan, Timothy (Patty) Dugan, and Nancy (Jim) O'Rilley. Grandfather of Christopher (Michelle) Dugan, Madeline Dugan, Peter (Annie) Dugan, Kellie Dugan, Jack (Katie) O'Rilley , and Nick O'Rilley. Great grandfather of Oliver Dugan. Preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline, his siblings William Dugan, Joan Smith and his parents Bruce and Mary E. Dugan.
Patrick enlisted in the Army at the age of 18 and proudly served his country in the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. He was the supervisor over a fleet of mechanics tasked with keeping the vehicles running that were used to transport patients.
Upon returning home, Patrick married the love of his life, Jacqueline, in 1955. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage before Jacqueline passed in 2008. Patrick owned his own manufacturing company, American Renovating, for over 50 years. He was an active sponsor of many youth hockey teams in the Detroit area and quietly helped many families. During his retirement he loved boating, gardening, woodworking, attending Red Wings hockey games and spending weekends at his vacation home in
Elk Rapids, MI. But most importantly, Patrick loved his family. He spent many years attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. If Patrick knew you or casually talked to you, he was your friend. An ongoing sense of love, humor and a smile that was infectious will be missed by all that knew him. He touched many lives and will never be forgotten.
In honoring Patrick's wishes, the family will be having a private service in May 2026.
