Mr. Patrick W. "Pat" Gay

Patrick "Pat" W Gay, 71, of Zanesville, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at The Oaks at Bethesda, following a two-year illness. He was born April 3, 1954, in Zanesville, the son of Donald Gay and Joy (Russell) Gay. Pat married Vicki S. Bales on May 19, 1979; they shared 46 years of marriage. Pat was a life-long member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

Pat worked at Modern Glass for many years, and devoted more than 25 years to the Big Brothers & Big Sisters Organization. Pat received the Big Brother of The Year Award on two different occasions. Pat was also a Lifetime Member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed traveling, following the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Browns.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki S. Gay; one brother, Jim (Christie) Gay of New Albany; one sister, Julie Gay and her husband, Larry Phelps of Dublin; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Gay and Connie Haught; his great aunt, Linda Russell; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family to give special thanks to staff of Interim Healthcare, and Interim Hospice for the care given to Pat during his illness; three special caregivers, Heather, Klaudia, and Lisa, and to our hero neighbors who were always there to help in our time of need.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dan Gay and Tim Gay.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 1020 East Main Street, Zanesville, with a Diocesan Priest as celebrant. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters, 4 North 7th Street, Zanesville or St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Pat's memory.
