Patrick Herman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. - Rochester on Dec. 31, 2025.
Patrick M. Herman of Henrietta, NY, passed away suddenly on December 22, 2025. He was predeceased by his mother, Kathleen Herman. He is survived by his father, William Herman (Lynda Krens); his siblings, Christopher (Ann Marie) Herman, Alicia (Shawn) Hubbard, and Jonathan Herman; his nephews, Jackson Herman and Brayden Hubbard; his niece, Kayleigh Hubbard; many extended family members; dear friends; and his loyal dog, Buddy.

A lifelong resident of Henrietta, Patrick graduated from Rush-Henrietta Senior High School in 2002. He began his career with the Town of Henrietta Highway Department, where he served for 16 years, rising from laborer to foreman in training. During his tenure, he built deep relationships within the community and gained extensive firsthand knowledge of town operations.

Patrick's leadership qualities were evident early in his career. In 2015, he was elected Vice President of the union representing multiple town departments, and in 2016, he became President, a role he held until leaving the Town. In these positions, he worked closely with past and current Town Supervisors, negotiating contracts and striving to balance the needs of employees and residents with fairness, integrity, and respect.

Following his time with the Town, Patrick pursued his entrepreneurial dream by founding Proscape Lawn and Landscape, a successful company serving Monroe County with a strong presence in Henrietta. His passion for beautifully striped lawns, meticulous landscaping, and hard, honest work defined his days. Whether mowing lawns in the summer or plowing snow in the winter, Patrick was known for his tireless dedication. He had many run-ins with local law enforcement – not for causing trouble, but because they rolled up on him while cutting his commercial accounts' lawns as early as 3AM or late into the darkening night as he strapped big lights on his zero turn.

Even still, no matter how busy he was, he always made time to stop, chat, and help anyone who needed him.

In the summer of 2025, Patrick extended his commitment to service by running for Town Council on the Henrietta Town Board. His campaign reflected his dedication to fiscal responsibility, support for local businesses, and ensuring accountable town government. His deep roots in Henrietta and lifelong devotion to the community shaped every aspect of his work and aspirations.

Beyond his professional and civic accomplishments, Patrick will be remembered most for his selflessness and the love he showed to those around him. He touched countless lives quietly and without seeking recognition.

His interactions with his niece and nephews-especially during the holidays-captured the essence of who he was: caring, generous, and always thinking of others. Brother, friend, uncle, nephew, and son were just a few of the roles he filled with unwavering devotion. The void left by his passing will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to call at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, 3325 Winton Road South, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 PM, with a brief memorial service to follow at 5:00 PM in the Interfaith Chapel. Interment will be private at a later date.
