Patrick Waymon Newsom, 26, of Little Rock, passed away unexpectedly on March 7, 2024. He was born on May 2, 1997.
Patrick graduated from Little Rock Catholic High School for Boys in 2015. He attended UCA then UALR prior to going to work full time. For the past year, Patrick was employed as a flooring specialist at Home Depot. He was a hard worker who was always liked and highly regarded by coworkers and employers. Patrick enjoyed going to music shows at local venues and attending music festivals. He liked all genres of music, from rap to bluegrass, and had a great knowledge and appreciation of 70’s rock and roll. Patrick loved hunting and fishing with his dad, cousins, nephews, and friends. He also enjoyed elk hunting in Colorado and deep-sea fishing off the Alabama coast. He was a fan of The Office and could describe any episode and often responded in conversations with one of many favorite movie quotes. He liked to cook and he loved his adopted dog, Evee.
Patrick was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ken and Imelda Hanle; his paternal grandparents, Waymon and Helen Newsom; and a brother, Jason Newsom. He was also preceded in death by his cousins, Joseph Casey and Amy Meyer Schomacker. He is survived by his parents, Tom and Mary Ellen Newsom of Little Rock; his brother, Eric Newsom, of Boston, Mass.; his brother, Shawn Newsom (Miranda) of Benton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces who will miss his humor and wit.
Visitation will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham Road, on Thursday, March 14 at 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:30 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patrick’s memory to the Humane Society of Pulaski County at warmhearts.org/memorial-gifts/ or to Christ the King School Endowment Fund.
