Patrick passed away peacefully holding his wife's hand early Friday, November 15, 2024, at McLaren Flint, age 63. He was born March 22, 1961, in Bay City to the late Edmund and Glenna Joan (Dillon) Pietryga. He graduated from Bay City All Saints Central High School in 1980. Patrick married Joyce E. Lee on June 26, 1996, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, and she survives him. He was employed with Scioto at the Dow Chemical Building #1131 in the custodial department. Patrick was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church, Sanford Brigade, and Bay County Conservation and Gun Club. He was a hunter safety instructor for the DNR, avid Detroit Red Wings fan, and longtime season ticket holder of the Saginaw Spirit. Patrick enjoyed fishing, camping at the State parks all across Michigan, and spoiling his show dogs, Drogii and Shaggy with his wife Joyce.
Patrick is survived by his wife Joyce, mother-in-law Mary Louise Lee, two sisters Cathy Williams and Tina Pietryga-Reetz, and in-laws: Stephanie (Mike) Breandle, Thomas (Joann) Lee, Phillip Lee, Theresa Lee, Mary Kay (Bruce) Oderkirk, and Tim (Kimberly) Lee. Patrick was predeceased by his parents Edmund and Joan, sister-in-law Jean Taylor and father-in-law Ernest Lee.
The Funeral Mass for Patrick will be celebrated Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church, 1503 Kosciuszko Ave. Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will celebrate Mass and private inurnment will be at a later date. Family and friends will gather at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1200 Garfield Ave., Bay City, MI 48708 on Thursday, November 21 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and at church on Friday after 10:00 AM. A Vigil Service for Patrick will be held Thursday at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Pat lived across the street from my parent's house. Every time I was leaving the house (rain or shine, dusk or dawn), he always seemed to be outside on the porch taking their dog outside or he could've been mowing the grass. Whatever it was, he always made a point to say hello or "how ya doin'?" Even when I seemed like I was in a hurry, he would always say something to me. If it didn't stick with me then, it definitely will now. We need more people in the world to be like Pat, someone that always says hello and someone that always asks "how ya doin'?"
