Patrick Frank Roth was born on September 28, 1984 to parents Fran Roth and Dick Roth. Pat grew up in
Shelby Township, Michigan, alongside two brothers and three stepbrothers, sharpening his wit through endless debates and good-natured antagonizing-making middle children everywhere proud. From an early age, Pat embraced competition and camaraderie, spending his youth playing football, competing in Quiz Bowl, Science Olympiad, and Odyssey of the Mind, and making memories with friends and cousins he held dear. Pat graduated from Michigan State University, where he made the most of his college years as a brother of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. His DEKE days were filled with wild fun and unforgettable stories, and his love of fraternity life was so infectious that it inspired his younger brother, Andy, to follow in his footsteps.
A loving uncle to many nieces and nephews (Eliana, Ephraim, Arabella, Cooper, Evie, David, Henry, Charlie, Maggie, Jason, Francis, Thomas, Matthew, Reese, Jase, Jaxon, and Reagan), Pat was always ready to play, be silly, and jump into the fun whenever he visited. At family gatherings, it was common to hear, "When's Uncle Pat getting here?" as the kids waited eagerly to unleash their boundless energy on him. Pat was also a proud godfather to his longtime friend and fraternity brother RJ's daughters, Delaney and Isabella, a role he took to heart and cherished. Around the kitchen table, Pat's competitive spirit shone as he reigned as the undisputed king of Monopoly, winning game after game with equal parts strategy and swagger.
Always willing to lend a hand, Pat helped his family fix whatever needed fixing, teaching himself new skills online and becoming a true jack-of-all-trades. He loved visiting family across the country, spreading laughter and good times wherever he went. Pat could sit and talk with family and friends for hours, passionately defending his point of view and rarely backing down. He was happiest living simply, free from the constraints of a schedule, and enjoying life at his own pace.
Pat was known for his big heart, generous spirit, and fun-loving personality. He enjoyed action movies, video games, reading, and caring for his friends and family. If you ever found yourself in a tough spot, Pat was the one to call. He showed up, time and again, for friends and family during difficult times. Famous for his bear hugs, he made people feel truly valued and showed unwavering loyalty to those he loved. A great friend to joke and laugh with, he brought warmth, comfort, and connection wherever he went. Though his time with us was far too brief, Pat will always be remembered for his boisterous laughter and irreplaceable presence.
Patrick was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, his aunt Pam Roth, and his younger brother, Andy Roth. He is survived by his mother, Fran Roth; his father and stepmother, Dick and Connie Roth; his siblings and their families-Kevin (Robin) Roth, Jenny Roth, David (April) Collins, Eric (Becky) Collins, and Brian (Maria) Collins; his aunt Suzanne Siebert; cousins Erin Siebert, Lauren Siebert, and Ben (Sara) Badalamente; and his uncle Peter Roth and cousins Erin (Jaime) Reynolds and Jeff (Joe) Roth, all of whom will miss him deeply.
