Mott-McKamey Funeral Home - Oak RidgePatrick Allen Weir, age 65, of Clinton, TN went home to be with Jesus on August 7, 2025 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN.
Patrick started sailing when he was five. In 1972 he ran off with Carson and Barnes Circus for the summer taking care of 33 elephants and 9 big cats. He first flew a plane when he was 12 years old at Oliver Springs Airport. After graduating from Oak Ridge High School in 1977, he graduated from John C. Tune Airport school with a 3.8 GPA. He joined the Navy January 1978 and served through 1984, he was stationed in Beeville, TX. The Navy sent him to Millington Aviation School. He was on the USS Lexington CV16, he served at Port DeConner, TX, Falkland Islands and Yuma AZ. From 2002 to 2012 he worked at McGhee Tyson Airport. They sent him to Britain and Northwest Africa for specific aviation training on specific aircraft.
He was in a rock-n-roll band in high school; He loved sketching, building models, camping, hiking and he was a singer songwriter. In 2008 Patrick met Waylon Jennings. He had Patrick play at a republican event in Corpus Christi in front of 3000 people singing the song Patrick wrote called, "Hey there mister, can't you see". In 2016 he met Dickey Betts on Ana Maria Island and played with him on stage. In 2017 he met Jimmy Buffett and jammed with Jimmy on stage at his resort.
After returning from the service, Patrick had his own company remodeling homes in Oak Ridge. In 2017 he volunteered at Elmira's Wildlife Sanctuary in FL., so that he could work with the tigers.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Weir, Jr., mother, Lois Jean (Mattox) Weir and brother, James Robert Weir, III.
Survived by his three brothers, David Weir, Todd Weir and Scott Weir. Patrick leaves his two boys, 4th generation bengal cats named Kahn and Canton.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, August 30, 2025 between the hours of 3:00pm - 5:00pm at High Places Community Church (Grove) 123 Randolph Road Oak Ridge, TN. A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 2:00pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors. The Oliver Springs DAV will present the family with a flag.
