Patsy Laverne Castle

Funeral services for Patsy Laverne Castle, age 72 of Homer, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Wise officiating. Burial will follow in the Longstraw Cemetery in Choudrant, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Patsy entered into a peaceful passing at 4:07 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Princeton Place in Ruston, LA. She was born July 19, 1951 in West Monroe, LA, the sixth of nine children born to Clyde and Eloise Silman. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, her six siblings; Barbara Boles, Phillip Silman, Gary Silman, George Silman, David Boles and Carolyn Quick; daughter Shelia Walker; nieces, Kathy Spencer and Amy Hennigan; great niece Chelsea Ledford; great nephews, Tyler Ledford, Timmy Woods, Dustin Woods, and Zachary Spencer.
Patsy graduated from West Monroe High School and later completed nursing school. She retired from Green Clinic and was a dedicated nurse at Lincoln General Hospital for over 30 years where she was a fearless protector, caretaker, and work mom. Patsy formed a lifelong bond with her work family. She held patient's hands until they passed, cried with families and her work family, and rejoiced with the ones that recovered.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband of over 20 years, Jimmy Wayne Castle; brothers, Dennis Silman, James Silman, and Clyde Silman; sister, Dorothy Fuller; son, Brian Walker; daughter Crissie Castle; grandchildren, Dylan Walker, Patrick Doss, Taylor Doss, Abby Walker, Bryce Walker and Conor Whatley; great grandchild, Adelyn Burns; her girls Cherilyn McCurdy, Debbie Kaye Fain and Heather Quick-Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry McCormick, Kenny McCurdy, Heath Quick, Eric Castle, Corbin Silman, and Brandon Silman. Dustin Burns will be serving as an honorary pallbearer.
