Patsy Hutcheson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Castle Ridge Mortuary - West Military Dr. on Feb. 11, 2026.
We gather in loving memory of Patsy "Pat" Duke Hutcheson, a beacon of unwavering faith and boundless love, who was called to her heavenly home on February 8, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on August 12, 1946, in Brooks, Georgia, Pat's journey through life was a testament to her selfless spirit and her profound devotion to her family, her country, and her Lord.

Pat's early years in Brooks laid a strong foundation for a life marked by service and compassion. A graduate of Fayette County High School, she carried the lessons learned and friendships made there throughout her life. Her commitment to serving others led her to a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, where she exemplified the values of duty, honor, and integrity.

After her service, Pat's heart found its true calling as a devoted wife to her husband, Tom Hutcheson, a loving mother to her children, Beth Hutcheson Perez and Scott Hutcheson, and a cherished grandmother to Brandon Perez, Kyle Hutcheson, and Justin Hutcheson. Her family was her pride and joy, and she poured her love into every moment with them.

Pat's siblings, Harriett Stanford and Jeanette Matthews, shared in the richness of her love, as did the memory of her beloved brother, Leon Duke. Her family ties were a source of strength and comfort throughout her life and during her courageous 28-year battle with ovarian cancer.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Pat's involvement in her church was not merely a pastime but a calling. She was a guiding light within her spiritual community, inspiring others with her unwavering trust in the Lord. Pat's love for reading the Bible and Christian literature nourished her soul and those around her.

Pat's legacy is one of a selfless and loving soul, a woman whose faith-filled life was a living sermon of grace and kindness. Her gentle spirit and charitable heart touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

As we celebrate Pat's life, we are reminded of the words of Matthew 5:16,"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Pat's light shone brightly in this world, and now it shines even more radiantly as she rests in the eternal embrace of her Creator.

We bid farewell to Patsy "Pat" Duke Hutcheson, a true servant of God, a guardian of her family, and a patriot of her country. Her journey on earth has ended, but her spirit lives on in the love she shared and the lives she touched. May we honor her memory by living with the same selflessness, loving kindness, and faith that she exemplified every day of her blessed life.

A lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Lackland Baptist Church.
