Patsy G. Martinez, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend, departed this world on November 11, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 79. Born on June 29, 1945, in Sweetwater, Texas, she lived a life rich in love and connection, leaving behind a legacy of warmth that will be felt by all who knew her.
Known for her big heart full of unconditional love, Patsy embraced her roles within the family with devotion. She was an adoring grandmother whose spirit shined through her loving interaction with her grandchildren: Tatiana Thomas, Angelica Rodriguez, Perla Martinez, Sandra Martinez, Angel Martinez Jr., Jorge Rodriguez, Thomas Rodriguez, Brem Laborin, Dan Laborin, Oscar Valenzuela, Mirka Valenzuela, and Francisco Valenzuela. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in attending to their needs, sharing stories, and offering her wisdom. Patsy's passion for family was evident in every conversation, as she loved to talk and reminisce about shared memories.
Patsy had a vibrant spirit that carried through her interests and hobbies. Known as the iPad grandma, she found joy in connecting with loved ones on Facebook, sharing snippets of her life, love, and laughter. A lover of music, especially mariachis, Patsy could often be found dancing, letting the rhythm take her away. Her passionate approach to life also extended to her love for shopping online, particularly on Amazon, where she eagerly explored the wonders available at her fingertips.
Her family was also graced by the loyal companionship of her beloved dog, Toby, who stood by her side, bringing her comfort and joy. Patsy shared a strong bond with her brother, Matilde Muniz, who added to the tapestry of love that surrounded her life. She valued friendship deeply and held close her best friend, Tom Farrell, alongside many extended family and friends who enriched her journey.
Patsy's journey will be honored through visitation services that will take place on November 18, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, with a Rosary held at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be celebrated on November 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, followed by her burial at Holy Hope Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
Though she has left us, the love that Patsy G. Martinez shared with her family and friends will echo in their hearts forever. Her spirit, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her, reminding us all of the power of love and connection that transcends time and space.
