Patsy C Owen

Patsy Ruth Coleman Owen, 91, was told by God that her mission was over on December 23, 2023. The gospel of the Lord Jesus carried her home where her husband, throng of friends and childhood family are ready to rejoice in the spirit of Christ.
Patsy was also known by the names Mrs. Owen, preachers wife, honey lady, Mama and Nannie. Born in Canton, North Carolina, she was the only girl in a family of 3 boys, and she grew into a personality that sparkled and crackled with energy. At 18 she left the valley of the mountains for Washington D.C. to prepare highly confidential documents to be transcribed to microfilm at the F.B.I. Headquarters, ( where her boss was J Edgar Hoover). The cherry blossoms of America's Capital City set a lovely back drop for her courtship with a Chipley gentleman in the Air Force, Mr. Clyde Owen. The two married 3 months after meeting and moved to north Florida where they raised one daughter and 3 sons. Pastor Clyde Owen set out to dedicate his life to the teachings of Jesus, and Patsy followed in the footsteps of the Lord as well. As the wife of a preacher, she not only took care of her husband, she acted as leader in women's prayer groups, and a Sunday school teacher to her children and grand children. During Florida summers she taught child evangelism to kids in her local neighborhood. She traveled to Jordan, Israel, Petra and Egypt, and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She helped run a tupelo honey business that communities enjoyed from Alabama to New Zealand. She was fond of watching a rough game of FSU football and reading to and rocking babies. She will always be loved and adored by her 4 children : Ricky Libbert, R. Mark Owen, John Owen and Matt Owen, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great- grand children who survive her.
