Patsy Jean Perry passed away on April 17, 2024, at the age of 83 after a courageous 6 year battle with cancer. She is now with her Savior and no longer in pain.
Patsy was born and raised in Ballinger, Texas. She married her sweet, kind and loving husband of 62 years. They were married on August 12th, 1961.
They have three children. Douglas of Roswell, NM., Deryll and wife Vickie of San Angelo and Denise Gatlin and husband James of San Angelo. Two granddaughters Kelsey of Lubbock, TX and Kaylee of San Angelo.
Patsy worked for many years at JCPenney as a floor supervisor, and a gift shop owner. After retirement, Vernon and Patsy traveled across the United States and the world, sharing their love of traveling by taking their granddaughters on many of their excursions.
Patsy is survived by her husband Vernon, children Douglas, Deryll and Denise and granddaughters Kelsey and Kaylee, sister Lawanda Crane of Abilene, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Ober Douglas and Lilly Violet Wood.
A special thanks to Dr. Cummings and his staff, Shannon and Encompass Hospital. Also, thanks to the Silver Stars at Glen Meadows Baptist Church and her best friend Betty Bowers, along with the support that Chris Bowers provided to Vernon. A final thanks to West Texas Hospice and Juli Whittington for her love, help and support.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A service will take place on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at a later date.
