Gregory Frank Zap, 66, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in San Angelo. Gregory was born November 10, 1959, in Wayne County, New York to Robert and Joyce Zap. He grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School in 1978. Gregory was a loving son, brother and husband who devoted his life to his strong devotion to God, helping in his community and his family. In his younger years he enjoyed being in the Boy Scouts and proudly achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. When he wasn’t volunteering in the community, he enjoyed reading, spending time with his family and friends and going to church.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Joyce Zap, his wife Susan Della Zap, his sister, Elizabeth Zap Sottlemyre, and his grandparents, Edmund and Marie Rude and Frank and Julia Zap.
He is survived by his Siblings, Stephen Zap and his wife Joanne, of Rolla, MO, Patrice Zap, of Kingdom City, MO, Sylvia Zap, of San Angelo, John Zap and his wife Sara, of Andrews, TX, Lisa Zap Guy and her husband Scott, of Big Spring, TX; his mother-in-law, Irmgard Arthur; brother-in-law Danny Sottlemyre; his nieces, Kristen Zap and Kathryn Zap; his nephew, John Davis Zap; his great nephews, Corbin and Cameron Conrad; and his uncle, Edmond Rude.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 13, 2026, at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Pastor Janet Larson officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
