Harper Funeral Home and Crematory - San AngeloDanny Lee Hurst went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 2, 2026. He was born on December 9, 1947, to H.E. (Sac) and Yvonne Hurst. He graduated from San Angelo Central High School. After high school, he joined the Navy and served during the Vietnam War. During his service, he was stationed on the USS Constellation aircraft carrier.
After leaving the Navy, he became a full-time farmer. He was also a very gifted singer and served as the music minister at Veribest Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Twin Mountain Tones. After retiring from farming, he became the full-time minister of music at Trinity Baptist Church in San Angelo and later at Wooster Baptist Church in Arkansas.
He later retired and moved back to San Angelo, where he enjoyed playing golf and studying the Word during his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Hurst; his parents, H.E. (Sac) and Yvonne Hurst; his brother, Mac Wade Hurst; his brother-in-law, Bobby Biedermann; and his grandmother, Opal McCollum.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Diane Junginger; his sons, Kevin Hurst and wife Ginger, and Greg Hurst and wife Pam; his grandsons, Sutton and Kristian Hurst; his granddaughters, Emily Dinelli and husband Evan, and Allison Wallace and husband Savante; his sister, Randy Biedermann; his sister-in-law, Marcia Hurst; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 9, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Harper Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
