Patsy Monet Russell, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in Kermit, TX. She was born on March 19, 1943 to Leo Clyde and Clara Mae (Burns) Hagood. Patsy married Orval Russell on May 9, 1964 in Kermit and they shared 25 wonderful years together until his passing in 1989.
Patsy was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ, where she enjoyed working at the church food bank. She also loved teaching bible class to the kids. Patsy loved to help others and never met a stranger. She was a true Christian in every sense of the word. Her well-worn bible was always close to her. She worked at KISD for over 25 years until she retired. Patsy was also a 4H and Girl Scout leader. Family was very important to her and she always made sure to go to the yearly family reunion. She was lovingly called "Granny" by her family. She will be dearly missed.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband: Orval Russell; parents: Clyde and Clara Hagood; granddaughter: Katherine Russell; and brothers: Howard Hagood, Robertson Eugene Hagood, and Larry Dale Hagood.
She is survived by her sons: Lawrence Russell and wife Amy of Hawley, TX and Donald Russell and wife Robyn of Zavalla, TX; daughter: Rebecca Naylor and husband Tommy of Big Lake, TX; brother: David Hagood of Oak Grove, MO; sisters: Elaine Watson of Goldthwaite, TX and Pam Smith and husband Mike of Midland, TX; and grandchildren: Tobias, Bailey, Jake, and Mikayla.
A Family Visitation is scheduled for 5 – 7 pm on Thursday, May 29, 2025 and 5 – 7 pm Friday, May 30, 2025 at Family Services Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Eastside Church of Christ, officiated by Roy Christopher. Burial will take place at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Gunsight Cemetery near Breckenridge, TX. Pallbearers are Lawrence Russell, Donald Russell, Tommy Naylor, Jimmy Maddox, Jake Russell, and J.J. Norton. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Hagood, James Jeffers and Josh Ivy.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, North Tx Chapter 125 E John Carpenter Fwy Ste 255, Irving, TX 75062.
Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor and condolences may be sent to the family at www.fs-fp.com.

My mom was an amazing woman and I didn't deserve her. She gave so much of herself and she was also hilarious. Mom was the best example of a Christian woman and always so joyful. I will miss her forever.
