Patsy Sue Spencer, 80, of Jonesboro, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born on July 8, 1943, in Trumann, to the late Jessie and Edith Jones.
Patsy had been a resident of Jonesboro for a little over a year, having moved from Trumann. Prior to residing in Trumann, she spent 12-13 years in Michigan City, Indiana. A devout member of the Stone Ridge Church of Christ, Patsy's faith was central to her life.
She was a beloved Mamaw, known for her fantastic cooking skills. Patsy took great joy in preparing meals for her family, ensuring that every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was a special occasion. She had a green thumb and found solace in planting flowers in her garden. Crocheting and making Afghans were among her favorite pastimes, and she also delighted in canning foods.
Patsy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Ellis Jewel Spencer, and one brother, Lloyd Jones.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Spencer, and daughter-in-law, Debbie Spencer, of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Ashlee Ladyman (Jeff) and Alecia Kay Sparrow; and four great-grandchildren, Brett Ladyman, Jaxon Ladyman, Colton Sparrow, and Addison Sparrow.
A memorial service to celebrate Patsy's life will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Stone Ridge Church of Christ, located at 514 Airport Road, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
